COUNTY TROPHY 2nd ROUND THIS SUNDAY!!

As you will know we have reached the 2nd round of this seasons County Trophy after a terrific performance against Met Police Bushey in Round 1. This Sunday we entertain Botany Bay at Saddlers Mead with a 1pm start. Botany Bay beat our 1st XI earlier in the season but then so did Met Police so it promises to be a good competitive match, particularly after the thumpings we dished out to Old Albanians and Leverstock Green last weekend (and no doubt but for the rain Sandridge would have suffered a similar fate). It would be great to see as many of you down at the club this Sunday to support the team as possible, even if you can only get down for an hour or so - and no lame excuses of watching tennis, if he makes the final remember he's Scottish and NOT English so it doesn't really count and you can always watch it in between overs or when the oppo' are looking for the ball in the undergrowth........

Notes from the chairman

We now have a scorebox at Saddlers Mead! It is League policy that Divisions 6 and above should have a dedicated and fully functioning scorebox, but they are really expensive to buy and very vulnerable to vandalism and damage. So with the help and agreement of Parkfield Sports Club committee, we designed a box which will stay in situ during the season, and be taken down and stored away in the winter. PSC kindly gave us half the cost, and this week, we have had a builder in doing the work, Our thanks to Chris Mooney for his interest, initiative, and sheer hard work in getting the job done in 2 days.
The next task is to get it painted, (job now done),  and have scoreboard lettering stencilled on the front. Any help in doing this will be greatly appreciated - please contact me or Pete Ford immediately.
During games, the scorers will be able to sit in the box away from noise and chatter, but will need help at the end of each over to change the numbers. Please offer your help - don't wait to be asked.
